Privacy

This is a static personal site. Data collection is limited to what’s needed to operate the site, understand how it’s used, and reply if you reach out.

What this site collects

• Server access logs. The hosting provider (Netlify) records request metadata (IP address, time, page, user agent) for operations and abuse prevention. Logs are retained per Netlify’s standard policies.
• Contact form submissions. If you use the contact form or the floating message button, your name, email, optional organization, topic, and message are stored by Netlify Forms so Walter can reply.
• Microsoft Clarity behavior analytics. This site uses Microsoft Clarity to record aggregated session data — mouse movement, clicks, scroll depth, and basic page-view sequences — for the purpose of understanding how readers use the site and improving it. Clarity may use cookies and similar technologies. Microsoft processes the data on Microsoft’s infrastructure under its Privacy Statement.
• Local browser storage. Theme, text size, and accessibility preferences you set on this site are stored in your browser’s local storage. They don’t leave your device.

Search-engine verification

The site includes static verification meta tags for Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. These are passive identifiers and don’t themselves collect data about you. They allow Walter to see aggregate search-traffic data inside those consoles.

What this site does not do

• No advertising trackers.
• No selling, renting, or transferring contact information to third parties.
• No personalized advertising profiles.
• No data collected from anyone under 13.

Your choices

• Clarity opt-out: You can opt out of Microsoft Clarity tracking by enabling Do-Not-Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser, or by using your browser’s tracking-prevention settings. You can also block clarity.ms at the DNS or extension level.
• Local storage: Clear it any time from your browser’s site settings.
• Contact-form deletion: Ask Walter to delete a message by emailing walter.allison@arnoldporter.com.

Children

This site isn’t directed to anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information through the site, please contact Walter and it will be deleted.

Updates

If this policy changes materially, the change will appear here with the date.
