What gets stored, by whom, and how to turn it off.
First-party browser storage (this site)
This site uses local storage — not cookies — to remember:
- Your theme preference (light or dark)
- Your text-size preference
- Your accessibility toggles (high contrast, reduced motion, link highlighting)
Local storage data never leaves your browser. Clear it any time from your browser’s site settings.
Third-party cookies and similar technologies
Microsoft Clarity. This site loads Microsoft Clarity for aggregated behavior analytics — mouse movement, clicks, scroll depth, and page-view sequences. Clarity may set cookies and similar identifiers in your browser. Walter uses the data to understand how readers move through the site and to make it better; it’s not used for advertising. Microsoft processes the data under its Privacy Statement.
How to opt out
- Browser controls. Most browsers offer tracking-prevention or Global Privacy Control settings that block Clarity.
- Do-Not-Track. Enabling Do-Not-Track signals Clarity to reduce data collection.
- DNS or extension block. Blocking
www.clarity.msat the DNS or extension layer prevents the Clarity script from loading.
What this site doesn’t use
- No advertising cookies.
- No third-party advertising trackers.
- No cross-site retargeting pixels.
- No social-media share-pixel cookies.
Hosting
Server-side request logs are kept by Netlify (the host) for operations. Those aren’t cookies and aren’t used for advertising.
